Shannon Barriault - operating Manager / head instructor / co-owner

Shannon Barriault began her education at Laurentian University in 2006 studying in Psychology, she has expanded her education to include programs from Cambrian as well as Georgian College to allow her to work professionally with children. It wasn’t until after the birth of her second son that Shannon truly found her passion. After experiencing first-hand, the benefits of physical activity, she decided to pursue her training in physical fitness so she could help others.

She received her Agatsu certification and has become a very well-known fitness instructor in the Greater Sudbury Area. Shannon loves to increase her knowledge constantly and loves to be active with her husband and two children. Her passion for Kettlebell has led her to become a fierce instructor who is guaranteed to make you sweat!

 

 

 

 

 

Lisa Scharf - Manager/c0-Owner

Lisa Scharf is an experienced teacher, entrepreneur and youth fitness coach. She has a bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Physical and Health Education, a Diploma in Physical Fitness and Leisure Management and is the co-owner of three successful startups.

Lisa has always made fitness and sports a priority in her life and the lives of others, she believes that it is important to take care of yourself and always have fun during a workout.

 

 

 

Carli O'HARA - Strength & Conditioning Coach / Front Desk Personnel

Carli O’Hara, grew up in a town on the outskirts of Sudbury. She began her post-secondary education at Canadore College, where she completed the Strength and Sport Conditioning program. During the program Carli completed her level 1 Olympic Weightlifting certification. She has also completed her Agatsu Level 1, the High-Five training course, as well as CPR C +AED + First Aid. While attending post secondary, Carli began training Olympic Weightlifting students proper techniques, and coaching them in competitions. She competed in the Ontario Junior Weightlifting Championships in 2016, and finished in second place. As a gymnast for over nine years, Carli is experienced in competitions. She would like to build a base clientele and share her knowledge as well as expanding others knowledge in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and other areas of fitness.

 

NANCY CASWELL - PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Nancy is our Pilates instructor! She has been involved in Pilates for over ten years. 

Nancy is certified in many areas of Pilates including matwork, magic circle, roller, ball, and also in specialty groups such as seniors, prenatal, runners, and swimmers. Nancy believes that exercise should be enjoyable and not this dreaded thing that we have to do. Her goal is always to make her classes challenging and to have a variety of movement so that you never feel stagnant.

Her clients have all had great results in the way that they feel and look. They have created many new friendships and there definitely is a kinship that is present. There is always support and encouragement which equals success! Come out and sweat with Nancy on Monday, Wednesday at 11am and Tuesday at 5pm. First class is free, drop ins $15

 

 

BLAZE TATTERSALL

Blaze is a North Bay native who understands the struggles of weight loss and making fitness a priority in your life. Starting off on the other side of the fence, Blaze had his first taste of fitness in High School sports. Never an active child, Blaze jumped into sports and lifting to pursue his own weight loss and health changes, finding a surprising passion and love for the industry.

4 years and 90lbs later found an addicted Blaze graduating High School knowing he could make a difference in other peoples lives like he had in his. After studying and committing to the field Blaze moved to Sudbury, pursuing a 3-year advanced Diploma in Physical Fitness Management from Cambrian College.

Now Graduated and an Ontario Fitness Council (OFC) Personal Trainer, Blaze is ready to bring his skills and knowledge to your workouts. Aiding you in making realistic sustainable changes to your health and fitness!

Joanna Schmidt - kangoo Instructor/zumba instructor

Raised in Lively Ontario, Joanna is proud of her small hometown and is looking forward to coaching fitness classes with old and new friends. Joanna holds a certificate for Kangoo Power through Kangoo Club Canada under the direction of international trainers Dorina Rigo and Alejandra Leyva. Joanna teaches Kangoo Dance, Kangoo Power, and an Introduction to Kangoo Jumps class, as well as Zumba for adult and Zumba Kids!

Joanna is an energetic and motivational instructor. She is passionate about Kangoo Jumps and is looking forward to teaching all fitness levels at the Lively Athletic Centre.

 

 

 

 

LOrelle Polano- Yoga Instructor

Lorelle is know for her humour, energy and compassion.  She completed her 200 hour Ashtanga training in 2015 at Free Bird Yoga school in Chelmsford, and has been further developing her yoga practice and teaching through studies in restorative yoga, exploring the connections between the physical and emotional, and refining teaching techniques in adjustments and cueing. 

Born and raised in Lively, Lorelle moved back in 2007 after living in Windsor, Scotland and Toronto.

 

 

 

 

Jody Nadjiwon - Spin instructor/pound instructor/group fitness instructor

Jody was born and raised in Lively and has 15+ years of working as a Special Education teacher.  Jody has a lifetime of personal fitness experience. She is an 18 year Student of Yoga and has a love for all things active; paddle boarding, snowboarding, hiking, climbing, competitive hockey for 15 years, cycling, etc. She has been running for 20 years; road racing half marathon and marathon, trail racing 25km and 50km. Jody also recently qualified and ran in the Boston Marathon 2018. Previous experience includes and is not limited to; personal training at YMCA and RHP, specializing in spin, weights and TRX. Community level Triathlon Coach, Accelerated Cyclebarre as a spin instructor and circuit trainer. Jody's excited to push your limits and have some fun in her spin classes, pound classes and HIIT classes!

 

 

 

 

Jon Burnetti- Spin Instructor

Jon is a proud father of two children and a Registered Nurse, who loves to get out and "push the pedals" whenever possible. He is an avid cyclist who enjoys road and gravel riding on Manitoulin Island, and mountain and fat biking locally in Lively. Jon understands how busy life can be with parenting, work, school and other commitments and wants to offer the opportunity to spin! Jon will be building his classes around all skill levels, and will work with you to meet your desired health goals.

 

 

 

 

JOHN AHONEN- YOGA INSTRUCTOR

John (E-RYT200) has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 7 of those. He took to yoga like a fish to water and his classes are inspired by movement in all forms; from martial arts to dance to the rhythm of natural movements seen in nature. John is excited to practice yoga with you, come and sweat with him!

DANIELLE GREENE - YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Danielle Greene (CYA-RYT 200) currently completing (C-IAYT 875). Her journey into personal reflection began 10 years ago. During that 10 years she spent a significant amount of time living and learning at a Buddhist monastery. The teachings and guidance she received transformed her life and she felt inspired to share that gift with others. 

Danielle believes the mind, body, and soul connection is a sacred one, and one that should be nurtured and inspired. She has a passion for yoga and with her unique approach, and inspirational instructing style she will embody the physical, spiritual and mental strength within you. 

Angie Brunetti - Group Fitness Instructor


Meet Angie!! Angie is from Thunder Bay, and is a graduate of Laurentian University. She works full time as a Radiation Therapist and Program Coordinator, between the Northeast Cancer Centreand Laurentian University. She lives in Lively with her husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs and enjoys all things fitness-related; hiking, paddle boarding, mountain and road biking, group exercise classes, etc!

Angie has been involved in martial arts for most of her life, and has always loved yoga and pilates. She is a certified Beachbody PiYo instructor, and is excited to bring this class to the Lively Athletic Centre!
