Meet Sara & ryker

Sarah & Ryker been attending LAC since Ryker was only a few weeks old and he’s almost 1!! Amazing right!?! Here’s her story....
.
”After having my baby in March of 2018 I decided it was time to get back into a fitness routine. I have never been a fan of large athletic centres so I chose Lively as it is close to my home and smaller in size.
.
My first impression of LAC was that it’s clean, friendly, organized and welcoming. The building smelt fresh, the floors were shiny from a fresh mop, the administrative counter was organized and the staff were very friendly and welcoming the second I stepped into the door.
.
My current impression has not changed one bit. Now being a member 5 days a week, I see that the staff is still just as friendly, the building is always spotless, and no matter how busy, it is still very organized.
.
I’ve learned that after all of these years of "working out" on my own, I wasn’t doing a lot of things correctly. After working with a personal trainer and doing fitness classes, we have made a lot of corrections which has made a huge difference in my day to day movement. I have also learned different ways that my body reacts to different workouts. And through a lot of coaching I have found some muscles that I never realized i had!
.
What is your favorite part of the gym?
I have a few favorite parts of this gym, one being the environment. I feel very welcome, I have made friends with the staff at LAC as each and every one of them are beyond helpful and encouraging. I also can’t say enough about the classes and programs they offer geared to every level of fitness.
.
What is your proudest moment at the gym?
My proudest moment at the gym is each and everyday when I complete the workout of the day! I feel great at the end of it and I know I have accomplished it with correct form because I leave without muscle pain, only muscle gain!”
.
Stay tuned for more member stories in the future. Thanks Sara Scott! See you at the gym!

Meet Tanner!

Tanner has been working out at LAC since April 2018 and he’s made amazing strides and gains. We are super proud of him! His energy and motivation for others in the gym is contagious. Here’s his story...
.
What brought you to LAC?
‘I wanted to better my life physically but also mentally. I was also determined to meet my fitness goals.’
.
What was your first impression?
‘My first impression was very good. All of the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The gym is very nice and always clean. My currently impression remains the same. The staff is awesome. Always pushing you to do better, to make that next lift.’
.
What have you learned about yourself since coming to LAC?
‘The biggest thing that I have learned about myself is that anything is possible if you’re willing to work for it.’
.
What is your favourite part of the gym?
‘The staff is definitely the best part. They’re all super nice, will create conversation and also joke around with you to make you feel more comfortable in the gym. Which makes you feel good, like you’re not being judged.’
.
What is your proudest moment at the gym?
‘Deadlifting 435lbs.’
.
What is your current goal that you are working towards?
‘300lb bench press.’

What advice would you give your friend who has gym anxiety?
‘You will be surprised about how the staff at LAC will make you feel. All of that anxiety will go out the door as soon as you become a part of LAC’s family.’
.
Thank you Tanner! Keep up the good work!

MEET HAILEY!

Hailey’s not your typical gym goer. Hailey is 10 years old, a grade 5 student at Walden Public School and also one of our faithful Zumba Kids members. She’s been a member since our very first round, which was 5 sessions ago! And she’s doing amazing! Hailey is an extremely active little girl. She loves running and mountain biking in the summer and swims at Laurentian 4 nights a week.
.
Joanna, Hailey’s Zumba instructor, describes Hailey as, ‘always super smiley and sometimes reminds me what the zumba move is (when I goof up). Over the Christmas holidays, Hailey and her friends Mackenzie and Andrew created choreography to a new song and presented it to the zumba class in January (and rocked it!). I adore Hailey for her spirit, energy, her willingness to be silly and I recognize her as an excellent leader and role model to the younger Zumba kids.’

Hailey’s mom, Julie is also one of our committed gym members. One word to describe Hailey best is ‘cheerful’ she said. Hailey loves Zumba. She says it’s ‘fun and I like dancing and the fact that it keeps me active is an added bonus!’
.
We’re so proud of you, Hailey. Keep up the awesome work! Keep dancing and lighting up a room! We’re looking forward to watching you grow.
